SAS has the capability to provide meet all of our customer’s requirements for communication tower infrastructures. SAS has the capability to provide standard off the shelf solutions or custom engineered tower solutions to meet our customer’s exact specifications from twenty to one thousand feet high. All of the towers are engineered to meet the site requirements of the customer and are custom manufactured in a state of the art fabrication plant in San Angelo, TX. SAS has the engineering, fabrication and construction capabilities necessary to meet and or exceed towers capable of withstanding 200MPH winds. SAS is able to exceed normal industry standards by using highly skilled fabricators using custom construction techniques to very exacting specifications and tolerances.

SAS’s fabricator produced their first guyed tower in 1945 and have been building quality products ever since. They have extensive experience in fabricating “hurricane proof” and “tornado proof” towers for areas of high wind. The towers are custom fabricated on a new twenty thousand dollar laser level knock-down jig, allowing experienced employees to fabricate a tower which will stack straight & true. The girts and angles are cut by a two hundred and four thousand dollar AngleMatic machine, which gives towers unrivaled uniformity and strength. The legs used in these towers have solid rod (non-tubular) steel in order to prevent internal corrosion and reduce both leg size and wind loading. This makes the tower stronger and better able to resist high winds.

The tower are hot-dipped galvanized to resist salt water corrosion. Hot-dipped galvanizing provides far superior resistance the corrosive elements in sea air then regular spray on galvanizing or painting. Hot-dipping bonds the galvanize to the metal of the tower instead of sitting on the top of the metal like paint. Normal spray on coatings will bubble and peel after some time and exposure to the elements allowing rust and corrosion to form under the surface of the paint. Over a long enough time the metal can be eaten completely away.

Many types of towers are available to meet the customer’s needs to include tilt down, monopole and traditional steel erection. These products are turn-key to the customer with options for antenna and waveguide installation as part of the construction project.
